CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
All AOA members in current orthopaedic practice are required to achieve Continuing Professional Development compliance, whether operating or non-operating surgeons.
CPD ONLINE |
| |
| Developed by AOA for AOA members, CPD Online is a simple system of five sections, with easy-to-meet compliance requirements and real-time summaries. You can monitor your progress toward compliance and, once you’ve achieved compliance, you can print your Certificate of Compliance (annual or triennial). |
| Download Welcome to CPD Online. |
OLD CPD DIARY If you have already started entering your 2010 CPD data in the old CPD website, please contact AOA Head Office if you wish to have your data transferred to CPD Online. Also contact AOA Head Office if you have any enquiries about data entered for 2009. |
PRINTED CPD ANNUAL SUMMARY If you prefer to complete a printed CPD diary, download the CPD Annual Summary 2011. |
EXEMPTION If CPD compliance is not possible (eg due to ill health) the member may apply in writing for either a letter of participation or exemption, depending on individual circumstances. Submission should be made to the Education & Post-Fellowship Relations Manager. |
NON-COMPLIANCE Members who are non-compliant will be contacted by AOA unless a written submission for exemption or participation has been received by AOA. Members who have difficulty with CPD compliance are encouraged to discuss their situation with AOA's CPD Officer or the CPD Chairman. |
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION Supporting documentation must be kept to allow for verification of CPD activity (to be sought from 3.5% of members per year). |
COMMUNICATION OF CPD COMPLIANCE TO THIRD PARTIES De-identified participation and compliance data will be communicated to RACS on an annual basis. In addition, members have previously been advised that identified data may be provided to RACS and that members can opt out of this at any time via the member’s Update My Details page. Before releasing an individual member’s CPD compliance status to any other third party, AOA will seek written permission from that member. |
