Congratulations to past AOA presidents John Batten (AM), David Marshall (OAM), fellow Samiul Sorrenti (OAM), past APOA president and fellow Ted Mah (PSM) on being recognised in this year’s Australia Day Honours.


Member of the Order of Australia (AM)

  • John Charles Batten – For significant service to orthopaedic medicine, and to professional bodies.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)

  • David John Marshall – For service to orthopaedic medicine.
  • Samiul Joseph Sorrenti – For service to orthopaedic and sports medicine.

Public Service Medal (PSM)

  • Edward Tuckseng (Ted) Mah – For outstanding public service to public health in South Australia.
