The
Report looks back on another busy and successful year for the Association.
Selected highlights:
- Continued positive uptake of the AOA Training App, resulting in the accumulation of rich data on nearly 88,000 trainee procedures
- Successful advocacy efforts, coordinated with other health bodies, resulting in the reversal of a decision to reduce patient choice by Australia’s largest private health insurer
- Unprecedented media interest and coverage of AOA, with three times as many mentions as in the previous financial year, and with particular coverage of the AOANJRR’s ongoing success
- The commencement of ethics implementation workshops to embed the Ethical Framework throughout the Association’s activities
- Approximately 50 per cent female representation on selection interview panels across the country
- Recognition throughout the Australian health community, at all levels of government and on the international stage for AOA’s leading role in the development of the Australian Consensus Framework for Ethical Collaboration in the Healthcare Sector.
