AOA Members recognised in 2019 Australia Day Honours

AOA would like to congratulate the AOA-member award recipients in this years Australia Day Honours List - awarded Honours in the following categories:

Members (AM) in the general division:
  • Dr Stephen Alwyn Migate (NSW) for "significant service to medical professional associations, and to the community".
  • Dr Ian Carnagie Dickinson (QLD) for "significant service to orthopaedic medicine, and to professional medical organisations"
  • Dr Graham Robert Forward (WA) for "significant service to the international community through medical initiatives in Africa."
Members (AM) in the military division:
  • Commander Ian Young (VIC) for "exceptional service in the delivery of operational medical services to the Australian Defence Force on Operations RELEX, PADANG ASSIST, RENDER SAFE, OKRA and SLIPPER"
Order of Australia Medals (OAM) in the general division:
  • Dr Francis John Harvey (NSW) for "service to medicine as an orthopaedic surgeon".
  • Dr Richard Murray Tooth (NSW) for "service to medicine as an orthopaedic specialist".
The Honours are recognition of the significant contribution orthopaedic surgeons make to the Australian community and medical profession. We extend our congratulations and sincere thanks to these members for their service to our community.
